Dr. (Mrs.) satinder Kaur did her schooling from Lady Irwin School, New Delhi. She graduated in Zoology from SGTB Khalsa College, delhi University in 1985. She topped the course and was awarded the University Gold medal. She did her masters in Zoology fromDelhi University in 1987 and thereafter completed Ph.D. from IARI, Pusa in 1991. Ten of her scientific papers were published in Indian Journal of Entomology (Vol 53, 56, 57) between 1991 to 1995. She joined SGTB Khalsa College as teaching faculty in 1998. We lost her to brain cancer in Aug 2010.

Ms. Rigzin Kang graduated in B.Sc. (Med) from MCM DAV College for Women (Chandigarh) in 1995 and did her Masters in Zoology Honors from Punjab University, Chandigarh in 1998. She has been teaching in the Department of Zoology, SGTB Khalsa College, Delhi University since 2003.

This book is an effort to provide a concise and easil comprehensible assemblage on the vast subject of biochemistry for undergraduate students. One of the unique features of this book is the compilation of information from various sources that enables students to get access to rich and up to date material in one knowledge repository. The book has been structured into five logical and easily comprehensible, proteins, lipids, enzymes; sections within each chapter, apart from explaining the structure and functions of these major pathways operational in their metabolism.
